The process

Our in-house painters are thoroughly trained to master the art of Tie Dye, which is one of the most advanced techniques used in the Project One paint shop. The process begins with a white base coat before pastel or traditional tie dye colours are added to the frame. Each colour needs to be carefully applied and blended to get gradients of each hue, and painters have to imagine a centre location of the frame to give each bike that radial, tie-dyed pattern that you might find on a t-shirt.

Each section is then painted as if the entire frame was tied with rubber bands, then dyed and rinsed – just as you’d do at home. The result? An always-fashionable, one-of-a-kind bike paint scheme that you can’t get anywhere else.
